Pivot Points Anticipate Forex Market Breakouts

Wouldn't it be great to be psychic? Wouldn't it be great if when you sat down to make your Forex trade you could somehow know ahead of time when and where the market was going to breakout, and ride that baby to maximum profits?

It's one thing to look back on a month of charts and point out where all the pivot points occurred, and see where the best pivot reversal points were, but it's an entirely different thing to be able to see and anticipate the pivot reversals as they are happening, and to make profit from them.

A pivot point, when it is part of a pivot reversal, is basically the turning point where a currency pair hits the highest point of a high trend, or the lowest point of a low trend, before retracing back the direction it came. Basically, the "new high" or "new low" will help show you how far the market is willing to go in either direction before it reverses course back into itself. This is critical!

The reason these pivot highs and pivot lows are so important is that the area between the pivot high and low bars is where you will notice most of the price action, but there are certain breakout days when the market will shoot past the current range, and these days are the pivot reversal breakout days. These are denoted by large movements in the market that are fueled by strong momentum. Remember: large movements + strong momentum = HUGE PROFITS!

Pivot points can lead to pivot reversal breakouts, and these opportunities are too good to ignore. Now you have knowledge, but knowledge is power (or in this case, profits) only when you know how to use it right! When a pivot reversal happens, you want to see whether the market breaks a new higher high or a lower low. Once you have this information, here's the basic rule for how to act on it:

1. If the market goes higher than a pivot high, you want to BUY!

2. If the market drops lower than a pivot low, you want to SELL SHORT!

It usually takes a day for the breakout to occur. Sometimes the breakout won't materialize. That's fine. If that's the case, close out your positions and wait for the next pivot reversal. Have patience, and you will bag that big profit day.

Make sure that these trades are performed with a one day time table in mind. Once the breakout occurs, close your position at the end of the trading day to protect your gains. Follow this advice, and you will be a very happy and wealthy Forex trader.

Your Trading Type

Everyone is different. So it would make sense that everyone has a different trading strategy. Developing a trading strategy that fits you should be the goal of every new trader.

Most people do not realize that someone else's strategy may not work as well for you as it does for them. They may draw support lines different then you or they may decide to move up there stops at different times then you do. Every little thing matters. This is why it is important to create your own system.

The first part of that is finding which strategy fits your personality. Do you like the high probability trades that you can get from option selling? Selling out of the money options doesn't attempt to strike it rich with one big trade, but tries to gain a smaller consistent income every month.

Maybe you want the quick profits and losses that come with swing trading. Making huge returns when you are right and taking small losses when you are wrong allows you to seek out the huge short term returns. Or maybe you want even quicker profits that come with day trading. Gaining small profits throughout the day can add up after all.

Maybe you are the fundamental investor who prefers to buy a fundamentally strong stock and hold onto it for the long term. This is the easy do your research, buy it and forget it approach. This way you don't have to worry about short term movements, but you will most likely not make as big of a return.

Whatever strategy you choose it is important to develop a system for trading it. Sticking with that strategy to get it to work out is also a key to making a good return in the markets. If you constantly go from one strategy to another you will not get anywhere. But if you stay with it and continue there is no telling how far you will be able to go.

My Online Curreny Trading Experiences

I'm going to share a little about my online currency trading experiences that I have learned a lot from. I actually started to get into this business a few years ago and let me say that I wasn't very good. I had a lot of bad trades and I wasn't even sure I could get this to work. I sticked with it and worked hard, since I really wanted this to work and one day, everything just started to click. I just started to understand fully what I was doing and I could easily spot a good trade.

I think the best piece of advice I could give you is to diversify as soon as you figure out how to make a profitable trade. The problem for a lot of people in this business is that they stick with one pair and typically trade for the short term. I think both are good moves though. When you stick with one pair, you can really learn it and when you trade short term, your money is in and out very fast. The problem is that it builds no security. If that pair because unprofitable, than you become unprofitable. Online currency trading needs to be a balance of trades, so you can profit with less risk.

Take the time to appreciate your demo. It's not a tool to test out how you can make millions with a strategy. It isn't for that. It's meant to practice the routines and behaviors of a smart forex trader. That is the only way it should be used.

Street Smart Forex is a new unique way at looking at the online currency market. There is a huge opportunity to profit, but you need to look at the world a little differently to achieve that. A street smart attitude is the key to winning over this market.

Is Forex Day Trading For You?

Day trading in the forex market may sound fun and exciting, but is day trading really the way to make money? Forex day trading can be profitable, partly because the forex "day" is longer than the stock market day.

Forex has been described as a twenty-four hour market. In some respects, that is true. You can trade forex twenty-four hours during the weekdays. However, the market closes Friday evening at 5:00 pm EST. Trading volume drops off considerably after 12:00 noon EST on Friday and does not pick up again until later in the week. Some forex traders prefer to wait until a trend gets established late Monday, or even Tuesday, before placing trades.

In the U.S., a typical day trader in the stock market might place a trade at 9:30 am Eastern time when the stock market opens, and close the trade before the stock market closes at 4:00 pm. The stock market day trader has only a six and a half hour window for the trade to be profitable. The forex day trader, on the other hand, can place a trade at 7:00 pm Eastern time, during the opening of the Asian session, and has a twenty-four hour window in which to close out a day trade. That's almost four times longer than the stock market trader.

Although forex trading occurs twenty-four hours a day, most forex day traders prefer certain times that give a higher probability of success for trades. One way to increase probability of success is by trading when there is overlap between markets.

There are four forex markets: New York, Tokyo, Sydney, and London. New York opens 8:00 am to 5:00 pm EST. Tokyo opens 7:00 pm to 4:00 am EST. Sydney opens 5:00 pm to 2:00 am EST. London opens 3:00 am to 12:00 noon EST. London has the largest volume of trading, followed by New York, Tokyo, and Sydney. Some traders consider it a waste of time to trade during the Asian or Sydney sessions, when currencies are less active. For day traders to make money, currencies must make large moves. Many forex day traders prefer the opening of the London market, the opening of the New York market, and the overlap between London and New York.

Another advantage for the forex day trader is the impact of news. Company news that might move a stock price may not occur regularly. In contrast, interest rate and economic news that moves currency prices occurs frequently in forex.

The twenty-four hour forex day is helpful for novice traders with day jobs. The full-time employed day trader, by sacrificing a few hours sleep, can gain experience in day trading without jeopardizing a day job. And because forex brokers offer demo, or practice accounts, the forex day trader can go through the inevitable ups and downs and blown accounts without risking a dime.

Trading The Global Futures Market For Wealth Creation

With the persistent downward movement in the global stock market, the allocation of some portion of investment capital to futures trading can provide a means of achieving greater portfolio
diversification and a potentially higher overall rate of return on investments. Unlike investment in equity, a trader in futures market can make money when the market goes down as well as when the market goes up. There are also a number of ways futures and options on futures can be used in combination with other investments to pursue larger profits or to limit risks.

*WHAT IS A FUTURES CONTRACT?
Futures contracts are legally binding agreement to buy or sell a commodity such as metals or financial instrument such as stock indexes at a later date. Futures contracts are standardized according to the quality, quantity and delivery time and location for each commodity. There are two types of futures contracts, those that provide for physical delivery of a particular commodity and those that call for an eventual cash settlement. The commodity itself is specifically defined, as is the month when delivery or settlement is to occur. A july futures contract, for example, provides for delivery or settlement in july.
During the last two decades following the advent of microcomputer, participation in futures trading by individual traders has grown tremendously. Trading software has proliferated as an increasing number of traders have embraced online trading methods to participate in the global financial markets.

*TRADING THE FUTURES MARKET
Futures' trading is a technique whereby one can buy and/or sell a variety of raw and processed commodity items, as well as contracts on financial instruments, stock indices, and even individual stocks, for anticipated delivery at some point in the future. A person who buys a security futures contract enters into a contract to purchase an underlying security and is said to be 'long' the contract. A person who sells a security futures contract enters into a contract to sell the underlying security and is said to be 'short' the contract. The price at which the contract trades[the 'contract price'] is determined by relative buying and selling interest on a regulated exchange.

In order to enter into a security futures contract, you must deposit funds with your brokerage firm equal to a specified percentage[usually at least 20 percent] of the current market value of the contract as a performance bond. Moreover, all security futures contracts are marked-to-market at least daily, usually after the close of trading. At that time, the account of each buyer and seller reflects the amount of any gain or loss on the security futures contract based on the contract price established at the end of the day for settlement purposes[the 'daily settlement price']. For example, E-minus, like other futures are traded in units called 'contracts'. These contracts represent a bidding agreement to buy or sell electronic mini lot of a future contract at a specified price. You can buy contracts on oil, cotton, pork, bellies etc. Using E-mini S & P 500 futures index for our illustration, you earn [or lose] $50 per point per contract and pay a commission of $6. 20 per round trip.

Each movement of the contract between prices at which profit or loss is recognised is called a 'TICK'. For instance the S&P E-mini ticks like this:1422. 00, 1421. 75, 1421. 50, 1421. 25, 1421. 00
In other words it is divided into 4 ticks per point. Each full point is worth $50 per contract. Each tick is worth $12. 50. So if you made 6 points on 2 trades of 5 contracts each, your profit picture would look like this: 2 x 5 contracts x 6 points
=60 points x $50 =$3, 000

The only thing we have not taken into account in the above equation is the market maker's commission. Assuming the brokerage deal of about $6. 20, the commission would be $62. 00 for the trades[$6. 2 x 10], so your total profit on the 2 trades would have been $3, 000 - $62 =$2938.
The NASDAQ E-mini contracts are worth $20 per point. The NASDAQ E-mini ticks like this: 2420. 00, 2419. 50, 2419. 00.

Notice that the NASDAQ is only divided into 2 ticks per point. Each full point is worth $20. Each tick is worth $10 per contract. To trade E-minus or any futures contract for that matter you have to maintain a certain level of cash in your trading account. That amount is called 'Margin', if your broker requires a $3, 000 margin per contract [very common amount with many brokers for short term trading accounts then you would need $6, 000 in your account to trade 2 contracts. You will also need some funds over and above that as a cushion, just in case the trade does not go your way. So as in the above example, if you had a $3, 000 margin and wanted to work with 2 contracts, you would need to have about $8, 000 in your account [$6, 000 for the margin and $2, 000 cushion]. You could do it with less, but you will be required to have at least the margin in your account or you won't be allowed to make any 2 contract trades. Commissions are often expressed in terms of 'Round Trips'. That means a buy and sell, or a sell and buys. Each time you get in a trade and then back out is a round trip. You will see various prices all over the net for these commissions. Some brokers will give you a very low commission rate, but a higher margin. It is worth it to you as a trader to pay a slightly higher commission if you can get a nice low margin! The low margin will allow you to play with more contracts and increase your profits with less money in your account.

*PARTICIPATION IN FUTURES MARKET
Individual, investment group or corporate organisation can trade in any of the major futures market of their choice. This is made possible by the advent of online trading. Online trading allows traders to actively participate in buying and selling of futures and equity in any major stock exchange market across the world. The trader is link up directly into the market through software called platform.
A platform is the software you will actually use to make trades with. Your demo account is a platform. When you go live you will be using the same software or platform [or at least you should learn the platform, is part of the battle in becoming a trader] that you used with your demo. Since trading in the global futures and equity market is real time, therefore, an aspiring successful trader must have the right tool, system and attitude to succeed. Traders must also have some level of capital and the relevant knowledge required to analyse the market proper. There are two ways to carry out market analysis. [a] Fundamental analysis [b] Technical analysis.

Fundamental analysis focuses on external factors such as interest rates, the general economic performance, and social and geo-political factors that drive supply and demand that affect the performance of companies that makes up the component units of financial markets. Three main factors that impact stock market movements from a fundamental perspective are:

[a] GOVERNMENT POLICY AS IT RELATES TO INTEREST RATE: The cost of borrowing within the local economy. Since this is a direct cost to corporate organisations, it has an effect on profitability on companies operation.

[b] ECONOMIC INDICES: These are the indicators that show the state of health [performance] of the economy of the country where the market is situated in one hand and the state of world economy in general.

[c] GEO-POLITICAL FACTORS: This is the extent of social stability across the world. The effect of events such as crisis, change in government, natural disaster, threat of terrorist attack, policy changes play a significant role in determining the ability of corporate world to operate profitably. While technical analysis involves the forecasting of stock price movement based solely upon statistics and price pattern. Simply put, technical analysis is the analysis of the market based on price action. While fundamental analysis looks at economic factors and geopolitical conditions [such as economic numbers, capital flows and key political events] in an attempt to forecast exchange rates;technical analysis relies on the statistics and patterns in price movement for its forecast. Technical analysis has gained great popularity in recent history, especially as trends in computerized trading continue to develop and active traders continue to refine their strategies to best assess what is going on in the market at all times. Coinciding with the increasing popularity of computerised trading across all investment arenas is the ability for traders to employ technical analysis. As markets tend to become inundated with information and as charting applications are able to provide traders with an increasing array of data, technical analysis has become both practical and relevant. I n today's marketplace, technical analysis has become an essential tool for any aspiring trader.

Forex Trading Robots - 3 Reasons Most Destroy Your Equity Quickly

There are numerous Forex trading robots for sale and they all promise big gains but the reality is 95% or more will wipe your equity out and do it quickly. There are very few that work but if you want to find one that does and enjoy currency trading success, read this article.

Reason 1

The Track Record Is Simulated

This applies to almost all the ones you see online. They all claim big gains but the reality is, the track record is a paper simulation and not real money at all.

Always check for the warning below on any forex trading system and if you see it - forget it.

"CFTC RULE 4.41 - Hypothetical or simulated performance results have certain limitations. Unlike an actual performance record, simulated results do not represent actual trading. Also, since the trades have not been executed, the results may have under-or-over compensated for the impact, if any, of certain market factors, such as lack of liquidity. Simulated trading programs in general are also subject to the fact that they are designed with the benefit of hindsight. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profit or losses similar to those shown".

Anyone can make money in hindsight, knowing the closing prices but that's not the real world.

Personally, I am not too interested in paper money; I like cold, hard, crisp real dollars.

Reason 2

The Track Record Is To Short

I was amazed the other day to see someone presenting a month of trades as his track record - what does a month of gains prove in forex trading?

Nothing.

The time period is way to short.

If you are judging a track record, look over 2 - 3 years, so you have a variety of market conditions and can judge it properly.

Forex trading is a long term game and many of the best traders in the world, have drawdowns of weeks or even months before recovering.

In terms of track record its - the longer the better.

Reason 3

Confidence Issues

It sounds easy to simply plug a forex robot in and trade it however its anything but, as you have to be disciplined and keep applying the trading signals, even when the system losses.

Many traders have good systems, but simply cannot apply them, because they don't have confidence in the system.

To obtain confidence, you can't follow a system blindly!

You need know how and why it works, so that you can follow it with discipline.

Don't buy systems where the rules are not revealed ( "black box systems") and make sure you know why the system will make you money longer term.

Big profits in Less than 30 Minutes a Day!

If you follow the above tips when choosing a forex trading robot, you can find one you can have confidence in and gives you the opportunity to make big forex gains.

Take your time and make sure, you find one that is proven and you have confidence in, you're then all set to make great profits in less than 30 minutes a day.

Supreme Strategies For Forex Trading

I wanted to take the time to share with you some supreme strategies for forex trading. This is a huge market with more money moving around in a day, than most markets move around in a year. It's a global market that is going on all day long and there is a potential for individuals trading on their home computer to make money. I hope to show you the proper way of doing things, so you can achieve that.

The most important strategy for success in forex isn't in the market, it's in your routine. You have to have a routine that is profitable. It's how you behave each day. It's each step you go through before you make a trade. This isn't the most easy to identify thing when you're first starting out because you have no idea what works. It's something that comes with time.

You got to start embracing the 80/20 rule. The whole idea behind that is 80% of what we do, yields 20% of our profits and 20% of what we do, yields 80% of our profits. That means we spend a lot of time wasting on a small tiny portion of our profit. If you're always analyzing this than you'll stop doing those time consuming tasks that only make you 20% profit. You're going to work on doing more of those tasks that make you 80% of your profits.

It's seems like an overly simplistic thing to do, but it is required to better yourself in this business. I've seen to many people waste time on stupid tasks because they didn't sit down and evaluate what was in their best interest.

Forex Supreme is a one-of-a-kind and very accurate trading software. It makes the process of instantly generating money easy. Take a look at this Forex Trading Program.

Automatic Forex Trading

When most people begin their journey on learning to trade in the forex market, word of mouth teachings are usually contradictive. The people who give the advice are often more confusing and contradictive than helpful. When people take this advice and begin to formulate a strategy themselves, it often ends in disaster. This is where you can turn to automatic forex trading.

Using automatic forex trading is a great start in learning how to navigate around the market and learn the ins and outs of currency exchange trading. You will need to get a demo account from the company you will be trading for. After that, you are well on your way to becoming a trading expert. Once you've created your account, you'll need to download the automatic forex trading software onto your computer. This will run on top of the platform program to make trade determinations on your behalf.

In "demo" mode, you can watch the trades while you learn. Once you're comfortable with this you can then change your demo account to a live account where real gains and losses are made. Because the market is open 168 hours a week, you'll probably notice that you will, at best, get 40 hours a week to trade. This is why automatic forex trading software is important. It helps you watch the market 24/7 and makes up for nearly 76% of lost weekly trades. Another advantage of these forex robots is that they are generally easy to operate and a forex beginner can start to make some profits while learning the ropes. The advancement in technology has also helped to reduce time and risk in forex trading.

Keep in mind that there are still risks involved. This is the real forex trading market and losses are real. Automatic forex trading provides you with an opportunity to give you an advantage over others in the market.

However not all Forex Robots are equal. The best way to get started is to read Forex Robots reviews. For a list of reviews, CLICK HERE

The Cost of Being an Ignorant Trader

Statistics show that only 15% of forex traders make money, which seems to contradict the vast numbers of people actually trading in forex. What follows is five mistakes new traders and experienced make that often causes them to lose money.

1. No Forex Trading Plan - Trading in forex without a forex trading plan is akin to going to war without a battle plan. You have very little chance making money without a well-conceived plan and strategy and how to execute it. The forex trading plan needs to be extremely specific, understandable and easy enough to execute for even a small child. Without an entry strategy, exit strategy, trade continuation strategy and money management strategy the chances of success are at best very slim.

2. Switching Strategy - A well drawn up strategy takes time to develop and is an iterative process, which should reflect the traders' own personal style. Development of aggressive or passive strategies should be refined on a demo account and helps develop a single strategy that the trader is going to stick to. Upon learning the strategy the trader should stick to it in the main but learn to merely adapt it to changing market conditions - having this versatility within the traders existing plan is vital. New traders should not switch from one strategy to another, they need chance to develop and mature.

3. Trading Emotionally - The most successful traders can turn off their emotions, which is a critical characteristic to have when trading in forex successfully. This includes both positive and negative emotions. Getting in and out of trades as necessary and making sure the head rules the heart is crucial in forex trading but often a mistake made by traders. Many a trader has made the mistakes of trading when they feel they can ride the wave of current good luck and also kept trading when they are down but are motivated out of desperation.

4. Failure to utilize a Stop Loss - Partly a problem of emotions, a clear exit strategy should be employed when entering a trade so parameters are clear. Not getting out at the right time is a key trader mistake. A good trader will know out the outset how many pips they are looking for and what their loss limit will be. Not having an automatic trigger has been many a trader's downfall. Ill-disciplined and not setting stop loss targets is a bad mistake to make, a trader has to acknowledge there will always be new trades happening.

5. Unclear Rationale for Trading - A trader trading for the wrong reason will fail. It has to be taken seriously and trading should not be undertaken merely for the excitement of trading. The undeniably high of making a huge profit should be tempered with the seriousness of making a loss. Trading is a serious business and should be treated as such. Many a trader has made the mistake of not giving trades the time to develop as they have 'better things to be doing'.

Did you know that there is a easy way to alleviate all of the mistakes above? Can your trading afford to try and stay in business and continue to make these same monumental errors? I think not....a mechanized trading system can strengthen and amplify your trading results. Click here and find out how you can improve your trading results tenfold with the right strategy.

Trading Timeframe Selection

Well, I've had a frustrating week. No opportunity to trade until Friday, and no opportunity to work on my website and newsletter service. NOT HAPPY!!!

But then, that happens to us all from time to time. Life has a habit of failing to consult with us, prior to messing with our plans.

What happened? Well, before I was trading I used to work as a pilot, with a specialty in aviation safety. I've maintained a link to that industry, and still do some work on a part-time basis. Usually it's not a big deal at all, and I can fit it in around my life. Sometimes though, a bit of a crisis happens (safety's like that!) and I've got to travel away, and well... my plans just don't matter anymore.

Yeah, I know. I've got no-one to blame but myself. After all, I choose to do this. And this probably has no relevance to your life. So let me get to the point - how does this story relate to the title of this article - 'Trading Timeframe Selection'.

Ok, those of you who have been around my website for a while know that day-trading is my thing. I like the short timeframes. Anything more than 5 minutes is way too long for me. Why is that? Well, several reasons really:

1. More action.
2. Tighter stops (I hate large losses).
3. Psychologically, I'm a bit of a control freak - I like to monitor a trade from start to finish.
4. I can sit in cash when I'm not trading, so it's no problem if I get called away and can't trade for a day or two.

Really, it's all psychology!

I used to trade daily charts several years ago, and really hated the 'surprise' each day when I woke up to see what the US market had done to my position overnight. Now, when I'm trading, I can manage the trade closely. And when I'm not trading, I'm out of the markets. Simple!

Day-trading is just a perfect fit for my psychology. And it just happens to fit my lifestyle as well, because if I have to go away quickly I'm not leaving open trades in the markets.

For some crazy reason, about six weeks ago, I decided that I should look into trading daily charts again because that would give me more time to work on the trading education website & newsletter. I decided to trade options on equities, which would allow me to place defined-risk trades and profit from theta decay. Great plan! So I set about simulation trading for a couple of months, just to be sure it would work for me. Well, everything went fine until this week.

Suddenly, I couldn't monitor my trades. I'm left in the market with an overall delta positive portfolio, and no access to a computer to adjust the trades, and the Dow drops 358 points. Not a big deal really, as it's simulation. The position had been in profit, and is only sitting on a slight loss now, so with three more weeks till expiry there's still a great chance to work my way out of trouble. Of course, had it been live I would have phoned my broker and closed out all positions.

But here's the real lesson for me:

1. Daily charts do not match my lifestyle,
2. Daily charts do not match my psychology, and
3. Daily charts do not match my risk tolerance.

I wasn't comfortable holding positions overnight when I couldn't monitor them. And the whole 'speed' (or lack of speed) of the game frustrated me. Could I get used to it? Absolutely! But why bother when I've already found my niche. I'm a day-trader. Why try to change?

So, what's your perfect timeframe?

The only way to find out is to try the different alternatives. These days you can get a demo or simulation platform for almost every market, and timeframe. So there's no excuse for not trying the different timeframes to find the one that fits your psychology like a glove.

Try the short timeframes for a couple of weeks. Try the intermediate timeframes for a month or so, say the 1 or 4 hour charts. Try the daily charts for a couple of months. While you're at it, try the weekly charts.

What you're first attracted to is not necessarily the right fit for your psychology or lifestyle. When I first got into trading I traded the weekly charts on stocks. This changed quickly to daily charts. And then over several years it progressively got shorter and shorter. Maybe day-trading would not have suited me back then, but the thing is, I never even thought to try anything else. Had I done so, I might have saved myself years of 'daily chart' pain.

So what are you waiting for? Test your timeframes, and find the right one for you - the timeframe that matches both your lifestyle and your trading psychology.

Happy trading,

Forex Currency Trading - Trade Currency in the Largest Financial Market

Forex currency trading is carried out all across the world and is the largest financial market in the world. The major players in the forex market are the central banks of the country, major commercial banks such as Citibank and Bank of America etc, multinational corporations. The major portion of the trading is speculative trading while only 5% of the trading is for correcting the currency. The daily volume of the trade is worth US$3.2 trillion.

Though forex currency trading can be done in any foreign exchange, 85% of the trade is done in the major currencies. The major currencies are US Dollar, Australian Dollar, Canadian Dollar, The British Pound, The Euro, Japanese Yen and Swiss Franc. The Us Dollar accounts for nearly 28% of the total forex market.

OTC market which is operational 24 hours a day

It's an OTC market or an over the counter market where forex currency trading is done in pairs. This means that USD would be sold to buy Japanese Yen or Swiss Francs would be bought and Euros sold consecutively. The forex market has no centralized exchange and is solely conducted through the phone and the electronic medium including the internet.

It's a 24 hour market and the major centers of trade are Sydney, Tokyo, Singapore, Hong Kong, London, Frankfurt and New York. Investors will usually react to the changes and the fluctuations in the forex market immediately unlike the stock and the commodity markets. The changes are shown on the screen every second. Deals are done on a second to second basis.

Forex currency trading is always done in pairs and the spread is the profit

The forex trading quotes are also given in pairs and the bid and the ask rates are always mentioned together. In the pair USD/JPY, USD is the base currency. The forex currency trading that happens in non USD pairs is known as cross currency trading. The fundamental and the technical for trading in each currency pair are different.

The quote for USD/JPY will always be given as 110.3456/110.3450. This means that 1USD can be sold for 110.3456 JPY and 110.3450 JPY would be required to purchase 1USD. In forex currency trading the difference between the bid and the ask rates is the spread or the profit that the forex trader will make.

The Forex Killer System - Importance of a Good Trading System

The FOREX market is one of the largest markets in the world, and in turn it is very appealing for many keen investors to place their money in. The market never sleeps as it operates 24/7, all year round, and there are no regulatory authorities that oversee the market, also no individual entity has enough power to heavily influence any particular currency pair these days. The best thing about the Forex market is that there are no commissions involved, brokers make money through the spread, and also there are no middle men, that along with the fact that the Forex Market is extremely liquid makes it very appealing to all investors.

If you have ever traded the Forex Market before, or for that matter any Market, you would've realized that it is essential to obtain or create a good trading system to help guide you in the right direction. Trading the market without a good system or a predetermined plan is the number one way of setting yourself up for failure in the world of Forex, you might as well start gambling. Now getting your hands on a decent legitimate Forex trading system can be a fairly complicated task in itself, these days the market has been flooded with all different kinds of systems. Some have been thoroughly tested and are proven to work, while are others are just simple systems that you or I could've created with enough years of experience in the market.

One product that has just recently been released to the general public is a very unique system entitled Forex Killer; it has been thoroughly tested over the past few years and has proven to generate consistent positive results over the long run. The system was developed by a former currency trading advisor who worked for the Deutsche Bank, so essentially the system has been designed by professionals, who allow you to become aware of the insider perspectives on the market. The system is very easy to install and you can begin using it within a few minutes, it doesn't require any signal services, and you can also test it out on a demo account to see if it is profitable before risking your own money. Forex Killer includes training videos, and is compatible with all current trading platforms, you are also offered a lifetime of updates free of charge.

The great thing about the software is that it comes with a full 60 day money back guarantee; whenever you are looking for a trading system make sure they have some sort of a guarantee, this way you are ensured the system works and is not some cheap system developed by any youngster who is trying to rip you off. Therefore test the system out on a demo account for 2 months and if you cannot see yourself generating consistent profits, then simply return it and get your money back.

The most appealing part of The Forex Killer software is that after you purchase it, there is very little risk involved as it is a proven system, and you can set it up in a few minutes to begin practicing immediately to see if it can make you some easy money off the Forex Market. Forex Killer is a tool that if used properly it can seriously improve your overall trading results. To obtain a detailed objective review of the software check out this Forex Killer System Review, to learn how the system works and how it can benefit you as an online Forex Trader

Forex Trading - Where Your Money's At!

Did You Know That The Forex Market Determines The Value Of Your Money?

Most people don't. I didn't until I stumbled across a website one day while performing internet research for a product that I had stumbled across. I began reading about the Foreign Exchange Market and immediately I was captured by the sheer size and importance of what the Forex market represents to me and my family. The foreign exchange marketplace is where the actual currencies of individual countries are traded around the world, 24 hours a day, 5 days a week. The market has many nicknames, FOREX, FX market, currency trading etc., but what it really represents is the single most important marketplace on the planet. I call it the most important marketplace because what happens in the FX market has a direct effect on the value of the money in your pocket. Sense just about everything you do, need and desire is affected by the value of the money you have at any particular moment, learning what the Forex market is and how it affects your life is something everybody should be interested in doing.

The fundamental law that guides international currency values is the level of confidence that the Forex market as a whole has in one particular countries currency, relative to another countries currency. This confidence level is made up of multiple factors, including measurable economic data and non-measurable market psychological factors, but the underlying principle of it all is that the more stable the countries government, economy and history are, the more value will be placed on that countries currency. Once you begin to understand this principle, it will slowly dawn on you why certain pieces of information always make it onto the daily newscast! Terms like "lead economic indicators", "lower federal interest rates" and "consumer confidence index reports" will start to have real meaning to you as you start to realize the profound effect these things have on your daily life.

The stock market, governmental data reports concerning the nation's economy and political instability around the world reflect the overall health of the world's economy. The relative strength of the United States in terms of these international factors is reflected in the amount of goods the dollars in your pocket can buy at any given time. The stronger the dollar, the more food, clothes and gadgets you can buy. The weaker the dollar, the less stuff you can buy. Understanding this simple fact will show you that virtually every facet of your everyday life is being dictated by a market that you didn't even know existed! It's understandable if this fact leaves you a little dumbfounded, I sure was.

Once I realized how much power the Forex market had over my life I committed myself to learning as much about it as I could. It has not been easy. Apparently, access to the FX market has been restricted historically and not much information used to be available on the subject. As with everything else, the internet has changed all of that and now just about anybody with a computer and internet connection can gain access to this important market. It did not take long to discover that the FOREX is a huge beast and it was going to take time, effort and a large learning curve to get even a basic understanding of what was actually happening. I decided to write down what I was learning in the form of articles for two reasons:

1. I always found that forcing myself to write about a subject, made it easier to learn about that subject. I do not know why it works that way for me, it just does. Also, its always a good idea to have something written down in case you get distracted by one of life's emergencies and you have to put the subject down for whatever reason.

2. I wanted to be able to help other people to get at least a basic understanding about this market. It's just too important for people not to know anything about it.

So, I decided to write articles as I progress through my Forex learning curve, with the hope that it will help me and others learn about trading international currencies. I wanted to start with an article that focused on the importance of the market itself and how it related to your everyday life because that understanding is the key to being committed to learning about it. Exchanging currency is a difficult subject and in order to stick with it you must see the value in becoming familiar with it. That is what has kept me going and I am not stopping until I can make money on the Forex.

See you next article!

P.S. I still can hardly believe that the only reason that I even know about the FOREX market was because of some program that I tripped over while shopping in search of dental insurance. What was the product? The Forex-Killer software. What does it do? I really do not know yet. I have been researching the Forex market itself since I discovered it and I have not had the time to learn about the product but if you are interested in it simply click on this link and you will be taken to my initial review page about this Forex program or simply visit my website's Forex trading section.

How Does Day Trading Work?

Day Trading is the name given to buying and selling stocks and shares (and forex) during a trading day. The trades (or positions) are usually opened and closed within the same trading day, sometimes even in minutes. The aim, as in all stock market trading, is to sell for a higher price than you bought. You have to bear in mind that there will be a spread (the difference between the buy price (the Ask) and the sell price (the Bid). This varies depending on which broker you trade with.

So, for example, if you have a stock that has a 1 cent per point (or Tick) and the share price is quoted as 50 cents, this is called the Mid price and is what you'll see in the morning newspapers. If there is a four point spread, the Ask would be 52 cents and the Bid would be 48 cents. The spread is used as the brokers commission and to pay other fees. So in the example above, if you bought at the Ask of 52, you would have to make up the spread before you break even, so the Bid price would have to reach 53 before you would be in profit.

Spreads vary between brokers and markets. You might find a 4 point spread on NASDAQ but a 10 point spread on S & P, so ideally you need to shop around to see who is giving the best deal for you. There are plenty of brokers on the Internet, and quite a few financial spread betting firms who will gladly and easily open an account for you. Most will let you open a virtual account so that you can paper trade until you get used to it and there is a very good Day Trading Simulator available free on the Internet. But remember this : Day Trading is in reality a form of gambling, so only use what you can afford to lose and get yourself a plan.

If you're interested in the free Day Trading Simulator, take a look at my Day Trading Page.

10 Minute Forex Wealth Builder - Truly Amazing Or Simple Hype?

10 minute forex wealth builder system is out. There are lot of people including the experts who have already started giving review of this system. These reviews are positive. Its primarily because of the simplicity to understand the system and also ease of using it.

But the one point that is causing a lot of talks is the ability to find good trades in less than 10 minutes a day.

However, the important point to discuss right now is "Is the 10 minute forex wealth builder system right for you"?

To find that, you need to look at various aspects of this system. Lets look at them one at a time -

1. What kind of system is Forex wealth builder - Its primarily a swing trading system. This means that the trades once made are mostly carried overnight for generally more than one day.

This is good since the returns are huge. The typical profit with swing trading strategy of this system is more than 75 pips per trade. Also, since the trades last for more than 1 day, a person doesn't has to glued to the forex charts for the entire day.

2. Ease of use and ease to understand - Any forex trading system should be easy to use. But more important than that is it should be easy to understand. For it to be both of these, it should contain technical indicators that are not propriotary.

The creator of 10 minute Forex Wealth builder has tried his best to have the system in easy language so that all kind of traders from experts to beginners should be able to understand and use it.

To find experiences with this system, click here - 10 minute Forex Wealth Builder

3. It should work for all types of market sessions such as Europeon, Asian, Newyork etc.

Forex wealth builder, since it is swing trading based, its not dependent on a particular trading session. The trades last for more than 24 hrs, so it works fine for all the trading sessions.

In terms of requirements for this system, well, there are none. This system can be used by anyone, including beginners. However I encourage to have some background so that the terminology of the system can be understood.

As for the price, the forex wealth builder system is very reasonably priced. Also, the price is backed by 8 week money back guarantee. This is good as it allows people to try the system and decide if it meets their trading style.

if you want to know my experience with Forex wealth builder system and also an amazing offer, please click on the link 10 minute Forex Wealth Builder

Is Foreign Exchange Trading Profitable

I'm here to answer the question, is foreign exchange trading profitable? The answer to this question is yes. A lot of people think that this might be some sort of scam, but this market has been around for a long time. It's just the last decade that individual people were given the right to trade in it from their own home. It's a continuously growing market with over three trillion dollars a day moving around. It is definitely a profitable market for most people and I'll share some of my experiences on how to get it to work for you.

The first thing about starting out in this market is having a great broker. A broker acts as the middleman between you and the marketplace. It holds your money and makes the trades when you request them. The problem (like many on the internet) is that you can't really tell the difference in websites from legit businesses and some operation run out of a basement. Obviously when it comes to your money, you want to have the quality similar to a bank. I found the best way to research these brokers is online forex forums. There is constant discussion about them and you just have to read through threads to learn which ones are good, bad and scams.

My last tip is on demo accounts. Is foreign exchange trading easy? Yes and no. I prefer to think of it as a process with a learning curve that takes time. A demo account is an excellent tool to start using now, without having to risk any money on the market. You get to have simulated experience of actual trades, the only difference is you don't use real money. It builds confidence and allows you to figure out what you need to do.

Day Trading For A Living

I was reading an article today which maintained it is not possible to make money day trading. Naturally this piqued my interest because I day trade for a living and last time I looked I was doing OK.

The article began by making the very valid point that the vast majority of day trading articles are not written by traders at all, but rather they are written by people marketing systems with hypothetical track records created with the benefit of hindsight.

That is absolutely true.

It is equally true of articles about every other trading style in commodity futures, stocks, forex and options. Whether it is covered calls, trend following with our extra special absolutely never seen before new indicator, swing trading, pairs trading, spread trading, or selling naked options, or any other style, it will often have a hypothetical track record. The time period of the method being promoted is absolutely irrelevant.

The article quotes CFTC rule 4.41 which every futures trader has seen many times. It says:

"Hypothetical or simulated performance results have certain limitations. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profit or losses similar to those shown."

This pertinent warning is not confined to day trading systems. It is applicable to ANY trading system in ANY time frame where hypothetical or simulated track records are provided.

You see, most system developers research historical data to find high probability setup patterns. They develop indicators and trading rules to exploit these patterns. There is nothing wrong with that, so long as it is realized that the resulting system is optimized over this data set. The only valid way to test the system is on a completely different, independent set of data. Often a system that looks spectacular on the data the developer was originally working with will fail miserably when applied over a different period or in a different market.

The article went on to say that all day trading systems lose because "volatility in short term time frames is random and prices can and do go anywhere, meaning that if you try and use support and resistance levels they wont help you with your trading signal or help you get profitable market timing. You therefore cannot get the odds in your favour and will lose over time. This is fairly obvious when you consider that the price in any financial market is made by a vast diverse group of traders".

Well, that is quite a statement. The fact is "volatility" exists in any time frame and, by definition, it is random in the time frame considered. Indeed, prices can and do go anywhere, whatever time frame you are looking at.

Support and resistance levels are identified from trading charts. If no time scale is displayed it is impossible for any trader to differentiate between a 1 minute chart, a 1 hour chart, a 1 day chart, a weekly chart or a monthly chart if they are not told which market they are looking at. The fact is all charts, in all time frames, exhibit similar characteristics. You will find trends, ranges and most importantly support and resistance levels. It follows that whatever edge you think you can get from identifying support and resistance levels in one time frame is equally applicable in the other time frames too.

Most successful traders use strategies which either (a) sell support and buy resistance, or (b) buy breakouts through resistance and sell breakouts through support. These core strategies are available to any trader working in any time frame.

The distinguishing feature of the day trader is that (s)he always exits trades before the end of the trading session. No positions are held overnight or over weekends. By adopting this approach the trader minimizes "event risk" which is the chance that some dramatic event will so disrupt the markets that you suffer a major loss. (Stop losses are ineffective in this scenario because the market "gaps" through your stop loss level.)

The REAL drawback to day trading is trading costs.

Say that in some hypothetical market, the typical trading costs are commissions (2 points) and slippage on entry and exit (1 point each). So for each trade, trading costs average about 4 points. Now, if a long term trader typically targets 100 points, trading costs would be 4%. For a medium term trader targeting, say, 40 points trading costs are 10%. But for a day trader, targeting 8-10 points, trading costs are 40-50%! Obviously, if a trader is determined to trade this market, then medium to longer term trading is the only sensible option. It would not be surprising for a trader focussed exclusively on this market to form the opinion that day trading does not work.

Clearly, then, not all markets are good for day trading. If the average market movement is just a few points, the trader will be unable to find short term trades which cover the trading costs. Even where the trading costs can be covered, they often turn what looks like a good system into a poor one. This is because, as a rule of thumb, trading costs are nearly always deducted from theoretical profit in successful trades, and added to the theoretical loss in losing trades. This significantly changes the average win to average loss ratio for the system.

To prosper, the day trader seeks out volatile markets where the the projected trading costs are a small percentage of targeted gains. The Expectancy of the system used, allowing for the impact of trading costs on the average win to average loss ratio, must be positive.

Fortunately, many such markets exist. The rather stodgy forex market, with its high trading costs, is NOT a good example. However, there are commodity markets and many individual stocks which exhibit the required volatility.

Forex Trading - How Forex Trading Works For New Investors

I had recently become interested and therefore started reading about buying and selling currency.

It's called Forex Trading. Like most folks I have read about huge possible profits in buying and selling different nations currency.

I searched many forums where a lot questions were asked about this investment system. I remember thinking that most questions were basically what is Forex Trading and how does one make money from it?

It was then I decided to write this article and explain briefly what it is and how it could be used. If this investment system interests you I suggest you research further before investing your money.

WHAT IS FOREX ?

The Foreign Exchange, called "Forex" market, is the largest financial market in the world, with over $1.2 trillion changing hands every single day. It is many times larger than the New York Stock Exchange.

What is traded on the Forex Exchange? The easy answer is money. Forex trading is where the currency of one nation is traded for that of another. Therefore, Forex trading is always traded in pairs. The most commonly traded currency pairs are traded against the US Dollar (USD).

The major currency pairs are the Euro Dollar (EUR/USD); the British Pound (GBP/USD); the Japanese Yen (USD/JPY); and the Swiss Franc (USD/CHF).

Because there is no central exchange for the Forex market, these pairs are traded over the telephone and online through a global network of banks, multinational corporations, brokers and currency traders.

BENEFITS OF FOREX TRADING:

LEVERAGE: When you trade in the Forex market, a small margin deposit can allow you to control a much larger total contract value. Leverage gives the trader the ability to make very nice profits and at the same time keep the risk of losing your cash to a minimum.

LIQUIDITY: Because the Forex Market is so very large, it is normally very easy to sell and turn your trade to cash. This means that by clicking your mouse you can quickly buy and sell.

PROFIT IN BOTH 'RISING' AND 'FALLING' MARKETS: One of the most exciting advantages of the Forex market is the ability to generate profits whether a currency pair rising or falling.

24HRS: From Sunday evening to Friday Afternoon EST the Forex market is open for business.

In Forex Trading, there is a bid price and an ask price, and the difference of the two is called the spread. The bid is the price at which buyers are willing to buy, and the ask is the price that sellers are willing to sell at any particular time.

The prices are always 5 digit numbers, and it doesn't matter where the decimal is placed. For example, GBP/USD (British Pound) has a bid price of 1.3745 and an ask price of 1.3748, thereby yielding a 3 pip spread.

A long position is a trade when the investor buys a currency at one price, with the expectation of selling it some point in the future at a higher price.

A short position is one in which the investor sells a currency with the expectation of buying it back at a lower price, expecting the currency to fall.

Day Trading - 3 Points That Show Why Technical Analysis Does Work

It is so easy to become completely bogged down trying to keep up with the company news updates, you know, the feeds you get on the financial news channels. This causes you to get frustrated and often confused. There's a lot of very interesting information, but does it serve to help our trading decisions? Remember, no two people have the same perspective on anything, and that includes the stock market. The analysts you watch and listen might well have very good and valid reasons for talking a stock up or down, depending upon their own investment criteria.

Here are 3 reasons to help you see why technical analysis works:

1.Every day trading decision, and I mean every one of them, without exception, ends up in one and only one result; price. The price of the stock at close of trading is where the whole picture finishes. You can do anything you like with company data; analyse it, pull it apart, listen to speculators, traders, journalists, but the result a closing is always the same.

2.It is correct that history does not necessarily reflect the future, and that's quite right, no one would argue the case. But, and it's a big but, it has been proven time over, that human psyche does repeat itself, the brain functions the in the same manner all the time. What you see on technical day trading charts is the result of past thinking, of past psyche. It will be argued until the end of time that you cannot trade for the future, based on historical data. But the technical data that is delivered and shown by these charts does lend itself to narrowing the odds enormously in our favour, IFused correctly. There are too many successful technical traders to suggest otherwise.

3.To see an excellent example, watch the price of a stock that's moving in a trend, or range, and you can see that same patterns, by and large being repeated, day in, day out. All of a sudden, the price pushes beyond the upper and lower price boundaries that it's held for the past few days or weeks, and you have a potential buy or sell trading opportunity.

There are traders who use only fundamentals, and still argue against technical trading, but if you have the time, a blend of both is best. The advantage of using chart set ups is that you can better gauge, and fine tune, where you are going to place you entry and exit positions.
